Summary:

Perform monthly closings in compliance with GAAP and IFRS for two legal entities, one US and one Canadian. Essential Functions:

- Consolidate and report corporate financial statements in monthly and year end close.  Review and reconcile GL accounts as assigned.  Review and prepare monthly journal entries as appropriate. Meet aggressive closing deadlines. (35% of time)

- Reconcile intercompany accounts as assigned; main contact for all intercompany netting and confirmations of amounts owed and due; handle all foreign currency reconciliations and record related foreign exchange gains and losses. (20% of time)

- Calculate, accrue, and analyze agent commissions owed but not yet payable. (20% of time)

- Prepare Federal and Canadian corporation tax questionnaires and act as a liaison with tax department.  Coordinate US and Canadian corporate tax audits. (10% of time)

- Prepares and submits internal and external accounting reports, government filings, and other miscellaneous reports as required. (10% of time)

- Participate in all external and internal audits. (5% of time)

Secondary Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Job Duties:

- Creating and reconciling local supplier accounts to ensure accuracy of accounts

- Performing costing of local products and items, to support budget

- Processing of payment requests for local suppliers to ensure accuracy of accounts

- Inventory analysis

- Assisting with economic order quantity

- Monitoring slow moving inventory

- Inventory sub-ledger

Job specifications or qualifications:

- Minimum 5 years experience in inventory accounting

- Degree in Accounting preferred
