Our Houston TX client, located in the Jersey Village area, is in need of an Accounts Payable Clerk.

Job Summary and Essential Duties:
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager in the company’s corporate office in Houston.  This person will be responsible for accounts payable entry into the accounting system (OSAS or Penta), which will include, but is not limited to, the following:
Entering and paying accounts payable (vendor) invoices;
Entering and paying employee’s expense checks;
Analyzing source documents to ensure all necessary information and support documents are received before processing invoices (i.e. packing slips matched to PO’s which matched to the A/P invoice);
Working closely with the Purchasing department to obtain necessary information to accurately enter invoices;
Setting up new vendors into OSAS;
Reconciling vendor statements;
Running job cost reports;
Performing variety of other duties as requested, directed or assigned.

Qualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Must have a sound understanding of accounting principles;
Must be proficient with computers and have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in accounting, word processing and spreadsheets software;
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have the ability to deal effectively and professionally with a wide variety of individuals in person, via telephone and in writing;
Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations;
Must have sharp analytical abilities in order to gather and assemble source documents for data entry, find solutions when various problems arise, and prioritize work around deadlines;
Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under stress, despite numerous interruptions;
Position requires a continual attention to detail to prevent over/under payments to vendors or employees, to ensure accurate accounting and job costing occurs, and to ensure processes are consistent with company policy. Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.

Education and Experience:
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Business school, Associate’s degree or equivalent is a plus.
A minimum of 2-3 years’ similar work experience handling accounting functions.

Summary:

The successful candidate will provide paralegal and project management services in the areas of employment & labor and litigation support for multiple attorneys.

Responsibilities:

Provide paralegal support on a broad range of topics such as labor and employment issues related to recruiting, hiring, discipline, termination, disability, internal investigations, litigation, compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, best practice development and emerging HR issues;

Assist in the development of legal presentations and conduct such presentations for customers, as assigned;

Responsibilities:

This position will report to the Business Planning Manager and will work with virtually every operating team within company for reporting purposes.

Reporting:

Risk Registry Management:

Assist in the implementation of risk registry updates and ensure responsible parties are following corporate guidelines.

Marketing Backup Support:
Backup support for companies oil & gas marketing operations.
Monitor imbalances and work with operators of non-operated properties to minimize imbalances, as well as deal with critical day-to-day tasks as needed.
Understand key tasks performed by marketing personnel for periodic reporting, reconciliations and invoicing.
Production Analyst Backup Support
Input production data and distribute daily report when production analyst is out of the office.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree
4+ years experience in corporate reporting role in an Exploration and Production company
Proven ability to compile and summarize a wide range of information in a clear and concise manner
Advanced Microsoft Power Point skills with experience creating professional presentations; familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Fluent written and spoken English.
Experience with / understanding of corporate insurance policies, operational reporting, and oil & gas marketing is a plus.

Our Spring, TX client is seeking an Accounting Supervisor.

Summary Responsibilities Include:
Prepare customer invoices (revenue accounting) and  ensure all revenue is identified and invoiced based on customer contracts, customer agreements, and other internal transactions (vendor invoices, payroll transactions, etc). Accurately process vendor invoices (accounts payable transactions) and timely.
Assist in financial analysis and creating timely and accurate financial statements.   Assists in development and implementation of financial and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control.
Assist in the receivable collection process.   Assist in evaluating the credit worthiness of existing and new customers.  

Responsibilities:
Prepare and oversee all customer invoices are paid on a timely basis and record entries in the general ledger.
Ensure all revenue is properly captured and invoiced including operating revenue, other contractual revenue (LIH insurance, reimbursable revenue, etc), reimbursable costs ( costs incurred on clients behalf to meet contractual obligations, bottom hole bonus, safety bonus, etc).   Possess thorough understanding of customer contracts to ensure complete invoicing activity.    Work with operational personnel to ensure all revenue transactions are properly captured.
Responsible for customer maintenance, resolving disputed balances, working with field personnel to obtain critical invoicing information, and addressing customer inquiries regarding invoices.     Assist in evaluating the credit worthiness of existing and new customers.
Effectively work with accounting and operational management at regional offices to ensure invoices and vendor material requisitions are complete and accurate.    Review customer invoices sent from field for accuracy as regards proper coding.
Process accounts payable transactions.
Reconcile select general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.      Reconcile reimbursable revenue account (905-417), and reconcile reimbursable revenue to reimbursable expense account to ensure completeness and proper matching of revenue and expense.
Supports and assists accounting management as needed.
Work on special projects as assigned.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance – prefer GPA of 3.0 or better
Two to five years of accounting experience with emphasis on customer invoicing and accounts payable transactions., collections, interfacing with customers, and account reconciliations.
Oil and gas field service industry experience (or equivalent) strongly preferred.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Knowledgeable of GAAP and strong general accounting skills.
Possesses strong communication skills, effective at working with accounting and operational personnel to obtain invoice information, and resolved disputed amounts.
Able to effectively work with staff and management.
Software skills include proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; and proficiency with Great Plains ERP software.   Proficient with data upload processes
Other qualifications include: proactive, takes initiative and ownership of responsibilities, and able to meet deadlines.
Detail oriented and organized.
Able to work independently.

Our Spring, TX client is seeking a contract to possible hire PART TIME Accounts Payable and Accounting Specialist.  This position will consist of 25-30 hours per week.

Summary:

Involvement in most aspects of the procurement process with particular focus on processing and paying vendor invoices.  Additional support provided to accounting management for month-end activities and special projects. 

Responsibilities:
Provide accounting and other support for accounting management as needed.  These duties will include support with month-end responsibilities, building spreadsheets as ability warrants, and creating FRX reports as ability warrants.
Accounts Payable duties include:
Review all Accounts Payable batches for accuracy, prepare and enter corrections, pays bills and offers assistance on inquiry of invoices for vendors. Routes all unapproved invoices to correct departments to obtain approval.    Maintains a tracking system of invoices sent out for approval and follows up as appropriate.
Correctly codes all purchasing invoices, utility invoices, rentals, expense reports, etc…    Ensures proper approval is obtained.    Ensures all reimbursable expenses transactions are properly coded to ensure the offsetting invoicing of customers.
Batches and keys in all invoices into Great Plains accounting system and performs self-review to ensure accuracy and completeness.  
Prepare material requisitions for operational staff as needed, and as time warrants.
Answer questions and resolve invoice and material requisition issues with vendor and operational personnel.    Perform vendor maintenance and take vendor calls.  
Review aged AP report to identify potential vendor processing issues.
Perform accounts payable/ vendor invoice research and analysis as requested by accounting management.
Perform light office management and support responsibilities as requested by accounting management.
Show initiative at finding more effective/efficient/labor saving processes and suggest ways to implement such processes.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
High School diploma and associates degree, preferably with accounting coursework.
3 years work experience,  2 years of accounts payable experience
Strong preference for  Great  Plains AP module experience.  Will consider other ERP module experience.  
Proficient in all aspects of accounts payable based on work experience.
Have the ability to work well with people, be a team player
Must be a self-starter and detail oriented
Must be proficient on 10-key by touch, type 40+ WPM, data entry, working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft office suite; e.g. Word, Excel 
Must possess strong analytical skills to research and resolve various invoice and material requisition issues.
Must possess strong software skills.
