Landman – Dallas Texas

Our Dallas, TX oil and gas client is seeking a Landman on a Direct Hire basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Researches and resolves property damage claims ensuring appropriate and timely settlements.
Surface negotiation and settling damages incurred during drill site construction.
Participates in lease analysis and determines rental payment delays and reporting requirements.
Performs site investigations and monitors construction activity ensuring all applicable permits are filed and current. Surveys and reports on reclamation activities on lands where surface disturbance has occurred.
Prepares and processes agreements and assignments, and maintains project files including property maps, county claim plats, master title plats and related documents.
Provides guidance and assistance to department staff in resolving issues or completing large-scale or complex projects.
Identifies and researches properties for potential land acquisition and securing drilling locations. Conducts courthouse research and title search to determine ownership, land classification and regulatory considerations.
Negotiates leases and rights-of-way for properties and prepares and processes other agreements working with the legal department and property owners.
Performs title curative and review to determine ownership and potential liability issues including
easements, assessments and liens, and obtains required signatures on all documents.
Obtains operating permits prior to exploratory efforts, and obtains and files all related documents.
Prepares property maps for construction commencement activities.
Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
3-5 years real estate and contract negotiation experience in land exploration or related industry.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret terms and conditions of various contracts, lease acquisitions, and damage settlements.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, members of the business community, or coworkers.
Ability to write and present technical evaluations, recommendations, proposals and reports.
Requires skill in negotiations, public relations, organization and administration.
Must be able to communicate and relate well with people both internally and externally.
