Accountant
Accounts Receivable – Maintain accounts receivable customer files including entry of invoices, customer and management inquiries, receipts and daily deposits. Keep all information up to date in company accounting system (Timberline). Follow established procedures for processing receipts. Communicate with customers via phone, email, fax, mail or personally. Monitor aging of receivables and notify management of past due amounts. Produce monthly lien notices in accordance with statue and company policy. Ensure sales tax is charged where applicable, and when not, that customers provide proper exemptions.
Accounts Payable – Review and enter purchase orders, invoices and check requests according to established procedures. Monitor accounts to ensure that payments are up to date. Prepare and process accounts payable checks, ACH and wire transfers. Evaluate invoices to prevent discrepancies and to make sure sales and use taxes are paid/accrued where applicable. File and issue payment for various state sales and use tax returns.
Job Costs – Setup and maintain job files including booking documents, change orders, tax exemptions and entry of pertinent information into project management system (Timberline). Run reports for management as needed. Assist in updating and maintaining forecast files.
Various other functions and duties as assigned. Some travel may be required occasionally to other offices.
