Accountant / Bookkeeper
Our client, located in North Austin, TX, is in need of an Accountant / Bookkeeper for a contract to possible hire opportunity.

Assists low-income youth get into and succeed while in college
Your Role:
One of the primary focuses of this role is accounting based on grants. Because of this, exposure to grant accounting is required.
Verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions to multiple accounts in Sage/MIP from invoices, receipts, check stubs and printouts
Manage AP and AR
Bank reconciliation
Reconciliation and correction of financial discrepancies
Compile monthly and weekly reports to show cash receipts and expenditures, payables / receivables, profit and loss, and other items important for operations
Database backups
Follow internal controls
Assist with annual financial audit and reviews
Represent the organization at meetings and conferences when needed
Assist with special projects
Background Profile:
Bachelor’ s degree in accounting or similar field
MUST have experience with Grant accounting and an understanding of how to allocate to grants
Previous nonprofit experience would be ideal, but is not required
2+ years of accounting experience
Strong skills in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook
Excellent writing and communication skills
Bilingual: English/Spanish would be ideal
