Our West Houston, TX client is seeking a contract to hire Accountant/ HR/ Office Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

 

         Accounting Functions:

 

Sales tax reports for all applicable states.

 

Yearend tax reports.

 

Input all subcontract and purchase orders into accounting system.

 

Input all change orders into accounting system.

 

Prepare all billings (AIA form and company invoice & Lien releases).

 

Post all billing into accounting system.

 

Prepare all information needed to quote insurance.

 

Bank Reconciliation.

 

Bank Deposits.

 

When a payment is received from the owner, check vouchers and then pass to admins so they can check for supplier LIENS and/ or joint check arrangements.

 

Write checks.

 

Verify and write checks on all overhead items.

 

Handle owner’s financial statements.

 

Monthly builders risk reports and accruals.

 

Monthly financial statements make all accruals and adjustments.

 

Maintain job cost and work with Project Manages to keep cost reports accurate.

 

Cash forecast reports.

 

Joint check agreements.

 

Credit applications.

 

Prepare audit confirmation letter for audit.

 

Prepare PBC’s for Auditors prior to audit.

 

Assisting in completing audits.

 

         HR Functions:

 

Payroll.

 

Payroll Tax Reports (quarterly/ annually).

 

1099’s at year end.

 

W2’s at year end.

 

Group Health insurance- prepares information for quotes and review quotes with upper management.

 

Send out COBRA letters for insurance if they elect to take.

 

Maintain personnel files.

 

Administer new hire paperwork and new hire orientation to new hires.

 

401 (k) Administration (make deposits/ prepare accruals for match/ prepare paperwork for any withdraws, keep up with loans etc.).

 

Handle all Texas Workforce Commission claim responses.

 

         Administrative Functions:

 

Register agents and business applications for each state.

 

State License applications and renewals.

 

Order office supplies.

 

Make necessary reports to state agency.

 

Work in progress schedule for bonding company.

 

Fuel cards.

 

Plan company events.

 

 

Requirements:

 

2+ years accounting experience, preferably construction accounting experience.

 

JOBPOWER software experience is highly preferred.

 

         Degree is preferred but not required.

 

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

 

High attention to detail.
