Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager/ Controller (QuickBooks) .  This position will report directly to the CEO and has major growth potential.

Job Summary
Areas of focus include general accounting, payroll, tax, asset management and financial reporting. Supporting responsibilities include, but are not limited to preparing journal entries, account reconciliation, as well as documenting and evaluating current procedures. Other duties include review, reconciliation and preparation of balance sheets and income statements.  The incumbent is also expected to provide business insight based on analytics to facilitate executive decision-making and improved profitability.

Responsibilities:
Prepares consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments.
Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data, scheduling required jobs, and verifying data.
Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information.
Completes assigned journal entries, and provides supporting schedules & variance analysis relating to general ledger accounts.
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts.
Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting
disbursements; reconciling accounts.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Maintains general ledger to include the preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounts analysis and reconciliation, setting up new accounts, and closing books monthly. Performs bank reconciliation monthly, verifies all deposits, and addresses questions and problems from banking institutions.
Maintains all internal and client payroll functions, including maintenance of records, processing paychecks, computation of applicable  federal and state payroll tax liabilities, and other payroll related taxes.
Monitors and manages accounts receivable collections from a variety of individuals and
institutions. Reconciles customer accounts, to include booking of sales.
Interfaces with banking institutions and initiates account set-up and management of cash flow. Prepares all quarterly and annual payroll filings and appropriate tax forms and reports.
Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential. Assist in special projects and additional duties as assigned by CEO.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
5 years experience in accounting/ analysis in sales and/or service related operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience Demonstrated knowledge, utilization, and adherence to GAAP
Experienced in QuickBooks data import/export processes, data reconciliation, and data cleanup
Know how to edit, scrub, and append data from duplicate or improperly coded transactional data
Skilled at creating ad-hoc reports within system
Capable of supporting a niche consulting company with moderate payroll and moderate accounting complexity based on multiple FederaiiD numbers with strict segregation within QuickBooks
Familiarity with payroll processing software (Paylocity, Paychex, etc.).
Demonstrated expert level proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and database software applications.
CPA preferred
Bilingual Plus
Working knowledge of all aspects of payroll processing
Experience in a Sales and/ or Business Service Provider organization preferred. PEO (Professional Employer Organization) and/or payroll experience
