Our Fort Worth, TX client is seeking a Manufacturing Accounting Manager.  This is a newly created position, and a great opportunity.

SUMMARY:
Provide operational accounting leadership and ensure appropriate controls over inventory
The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for inventory accounting and controls at all Reverse Logistics and Repair warehouse locations including: Texas, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica. The Sr. Accounting Manager performs the duties listed below personally or through delegation to team members. The group will work closely with the Inventory Control, Purchasing and Operations teams.

Responsibilities:
Establish and ensure appropriate controls over inventory
For company owned and consigned customer product:
Review on-going cycle counts and ensure cycle count results are properly recorded in the inventory sub-ledger.
Work with Sr. Manager of Inventory Control to coordinate periodic physical inventory procedures and reconcile book values to physical inventory results.
Implement systemic and/or process changes to ensure all inventory transactions are properly accounted for in the RLR business in order to eliminate “stranded parts” and “negative consumption” and minimize shrinkage and leakage of lost billing opportunities.
Develop, implement and direct processes to ensure compliance with Corporate Policies.
Assist in the documentation, evaluation and remediation of control infrastructure to ensure compliance with SOX and SOC-1 requirements.
Ensure inventory is appropriately accounted for in our ERP
Ensure proper inventory cutoff at period ends.
Make recommendations for optimizing the existing ERP (MAS500) for inventory accounting related transactions.
Lead and execute all month-end close activities for the inventory accounting group
Review all journal entries created by direct reports for completeness and accuracy
Lead the daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of inventory balances
Provide follow-up on vendor receipt or payment issues
Provide operational accounting support to the Reverse Logistics and Repair business
Perform periodic audits of accounting system, payroll system, time and attendance system, and internal reporting.
Review time and attendance system and labor reports for accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Prepare daily, weekly, period end operational performance reports with comments and recommendations for corrective actions (KPI’s)
Drive process improvement changes to insure the Company is meeting or exceeding the current and future business requirements.
Establish alliances with external partners and internal groups to provide excellent internal and external customer service.
Work on special projects relating to operations when requested.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance
CPA or MBA preferred
10 plus years of increasing responsibilities in a manufacturing environment with inventory management/cost accounting/process improvement roles.
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and experience with developing controls over inventory in a manufacturing environment.
Spanish language skills preferred
