Purpose:

Technology application development plays an important part in the delivery of research & consultancy products, with existing revenue streams and new product development plans heavily dependent upon success in this area.​  Working within the globalCweb application developments.​The successful candidate will work on a number of important projects involving, for example:

Playing a key part in the development of web applications supporting the Gas & Power and Upstream research teams product development initiatives initially, leading to wider Energy business support, these projects provide a lot of scope both for software development and for involvement into both design and analysis.​  Technologies involved likely to be Java, JavaScript (AJAX, JQuery), ORACLE/​SQL*Server, ESRI (GIS), Perl, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Reporting Services and,Net.​  Potential scope for the progression into technology project management working in tandem with the business project manager.

Playing a key part in the development and maintenance of web-based data tools.​ Technologies utilized within these tools encompass: C#, .​Net, Microsoft SQL*Server, Reporting Services and Office Writer.

Involvement from a development perspective in any number of additional projects utilizing technologies such as ORACLE, SQL*Server, Visual Studio, MS Reporting Services, C#, ASP.​NET, .​NET 3.​5, Eclipse, Java and JavaScript.

Play a key part in supporting continuous quality initiatives to help ensure that the Technology team continues to provide excellent standards of service delivery.

Provision of second line support for the entire product suite to both internal and external clients.

For ensuring the design and build of high performance, highly available web based products and tools

This is a demanding role requiring a capable system developer who can:

Operate independently across the project development lifecycle; through business requirements, design, development, testing & implementation, documentation and knowledge handover.

Demonstrate a proven track record in Website development using Java and database technologies with ORACLE PL/​SQL or SQL*Server t-sql stored procedures.​ Having achieved this within an organization such as a Financial Institution would definitely be of benefit within this role as attention to standards and code maintainability is essential

Show an aptitude for database design and business analysis

Demonstrate a proven track record in developing solutions utilizing XML and XSLT technologies

Work closely with business staff to design and deliver high quality applications, enhancements and support services

Challenge appropriately to ensure that business requirements are clear, robust and reflect commercial practicalities.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to help ensure that the Technology team continues to provide excellent standards of service delivery

Ensure that standards are rigorously applied, and further developed where appropriate

Support and assist colleagues by sharing knowledge and new ideas

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A formalized and structured education in software development, design and implementation is essential for this role.

  • Commercial Management:  Manage commercial processes and oversee economic analysis (actual evaluations and assurance)

Detailed Deliverables

Exploration Planning

  • Maintain and Manage the Exploration LRP (Long Range Plan) and Exploration portfolio (commercially)
  • Conduct Exploration Competitor Analysis and utilize same in guiding/moulding the business unit’s exploration strategies/tactics.
  • Provide Exploration Business Support (G&A, budgets, etc.)
  • Maintain and Manage the Exploration Inventory Maturation process from a commercial perspective.
  • Manage and conduct Exploration Economic Analysis – work in conjunction with appropriate asset/opportunity team analysis as necessary.
  • Familiarity with exploration volumetric and risk assessment tools and techniques (GEOX, Pete Rose, etc.); ability to critically assess inputs from a commercial perspective.
  • Lead assurance process for the exploration process
  • Act as contact point for quarterly exploration portfolio reviews and with Headquarters.

Business Unit Planning

  • Manage and oversee budget and planning cycle(s); work in conjunction with business analyst(s) on the budget/planning cycle.
  • Manage and oversee KPI and BU P&L reporting function; work in conjunction with business analyst(s) on the KPI reporting process.
  • Maintain appropriate database for all Business Unit economic analysis and manage database/systems for efficient aggregation of investments.  Continue to improve system(s) to increase transparency of expectations and to allow for scenario planning of various investment and business strategies.
  • Conduct competitor analysis and utilize same in guiding/moulding the business unit strategies/tactics.

Commercial Management

  • Manage commercial processes; ensure commercial assurance on key projects.
  • Conduct (or oversee) key economic investment analysis;  provide consultation and assurance for asset teams conducting evaluations;  conduct complex risk analysis and economic assessments with the ability to communicate complex issues into simple and digested formats.
  • Ensure commercial compliance.
  • Manage and oversee various corporate liaison functions including WMS standards system, business audits, etc.
  • Ensure seamless blend (approach and systems) between exploration planning approach (Exploration LRP) and Business Unit planning approach (CPD)
  • Involvement in key negotiations
  • Work with teams developing investment opportunities to utilize the integrated phase gate project management roadmap and appropriate upstream commercial strategies to manage commercial risks and optimize value.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS in Business, Engineering or Geoscience
  • At least 2 years within an upstream oil and gas company AND an MBA from a business school or at least 6+ years in a commercial analysis role in an upstream oil and gas company
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the current and up to date commercial techniques, thinking, concepts and trends as it relates to utilization in an E&P company
  • Excellent demonstrable communication and presentation skills
  • Team player and self-starter
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Ability and willingness to do periodic travel including overseas
  • Advanced economic and investment cash flow analysis including risking techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 5-6 years experience in a commercial role specific to deep water Gulf of Mexico
  • MBA from top business school
  • Experience with JV decision making processes
  • Experience preparing and presenting at a senior leader or board level
  • Exposure to industry consultant databases: WoodMac, IHS, OWL, etc.
  • Advanced abilities in AIRES, GeoX, Rose Exploration analysis, etc.

Key software/databases:

  • Advanced abilities with Commercially available Economic modeling packages
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including cash-flow analysis
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with GeoX risk & volume evaluation

Description:

• Specifies and produces or obtains estimates for manufacturing, material, and engineering costs, as well as large auxiliary equipment items such as electric motors, engines, gears, lube systems and seal systems.

• Coordinates large projects and provides technical application assistance

• Evaluates quotes from suppliers as required.

• Supports Sales Representative in completing and submitting Order Package including the OED to Project Management

• When required, provides direction and training to other team members.

• Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.  Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent required.

• 5 years experience in design and application of rotating equipment or equivalent.

• Proficient Math and computer skills and ability to operate office machinery.

Duties:

Utilize Excalibur and Docvue to review old invoices to determine new opportunities for reclassification from operating expenses to capital expenses.

Collaborate with Engineering and Accounting to confirm expenditures.

Develop auditable documentation to support reclassification entries.

Support the purchasing and accounting team to oversee this project.

Requirements:

At least 5 years of experience in an accounting role.

Bachelors degree is preferred.

Previous oil and gas experience is a MUST.

Previous use of Excalibur software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

– Serve as assistant to Senior Vice President

– Greet visitors to the office in a courteous and professional manner

– Track invoices for vendor partners on behalf of departments

– Assist with management of department budgets to include tracking and reporting

– Assist with travel arrangements and completion of expense reports

– Checks office supplies stock and reorders as appropriate

– Collects, tabulates and reports key statistics as defined from time to time

Experience:

– Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint

– 3 to 5 years Executive Assistant experience in corporate environment

Personal Qualities:

– Should have the ability to communicate well with people both in person and on the phone

– Should be able to work well under pressure and exhibit utmost flexibility

– Must be trustworthy with confidential material

– Must have a neat and friendly appearance

– Maintains positive and productive working relationship with physicians of the integrated practices, the company and the co-workers and -hospital staff

– Promotes a harmonious work environment through positive communication

Administrative Skills:

Senior Accounting Supervisor/ Accounting Manager – Irving Texas

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare gas plant accruals and review revenue and lease operating expense accruals, journal entries, and trend analysis for domestic operating divisions.
  • Review and assist in preparing various monthly financial schedules, including such areas as impairment, DD&A, asset retirement obligation (ARO).
  • Provide aid to the department by assisting with regular tasks and working on special projects in key areas of property accounting as needed.
  • Be responsible for SOX controls and documentation within the process scope assigned.
  • Oversee and ensure timely delivery and coordinate the resolution of related auditor queries of the schedules needed for external auditors.
  • Work with reservoir engineers on reserve analytics and asset retirement obligation accounting and data.
  • Work with geologists and various asset teams on the future plans and timing of developing leasehold prospects.
  • Oversee and insure accurate Standardized Measure of Oil and Gas (SMOG) data for financial disclosure.

Requirements:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelors degree in accounting, eight to ten years oil and gas accounting experience with experience in DD&A, asset retirement obligations, capital additions, prospect inventories, lease and well equipment inventories, and gas balancing.
  • Preferably a CPA or CPA candidate.
  • Requires knowledge in the upstream oil and gas industry, Microsoft Office suite, HFM, Essbase, and ten key by touch.
