Our East Texas oil and gas client is looking for a Communication Technician to join their team on a direct hire basis.

Position Overview:

Installation and support of new and existing types of communications systems and towers. Support on new and existing design for Scada infrastructure.

Position Description:

     

  • Install communication systems, monitoring system performance, identifying problems, troubleshooting, and repairing systems.
  • Configure field level communications such as satellite, telephones, cellular, spread spectrum radios and TCP/IP networking.
  • Configure and support SCADA applications including HMI’s, historians and polling engines.
  • Configure and maintain communications necessary for SCADA operations.
  • Provide support to field personnel in installing and maintaining the RTU’s and PLC’s necessary for SCADA\Control operations.
  • Solve SCADA related measurement issues.
  • Develop SCADA network designs and deploy with appropriate technology, wireless, spread spectrum, and radio communications.
  • Participate in special projects, studies, and evaluations as requested.
  • Provide on call support.
  • Other duties as required.

Position Qualifications:

     

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Working knowledge of midstream gas pipeline and treating facilities field operations.
  • 7-10 years of experience in radio communications.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with PLC (Program Logic Control).
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Clear SCADA language.
  • Thorough understanding of the architecture of an enterprise SCADA system development
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities
  • Ability to lead contractor teams and deliver projects
  • Excellent customer service, verbal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work without close supervision
