Our Richardson, TX client is seeking a Corporate Travel Agent on a contract (2-3 month) basis.
Responsibilities:
Plan itineraries
Arrange accommodations, airline or cruise tickets and other travel services for customers
Communicate with customers to determine date of travel, destination, mode of transportation, financial considerations and other details
Provide customers with brochures, maps and other information that could help their travel easier
Compute travel costs
Negotiate with various travel-related companies such as hotels, resorts, etc to get discounts and freebies
Recommend travel guides, destinations and other details based on customer needs
Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or some college background in computer science, world history, geography, foreign languages or a similar field, Bachelor’s degree in travel and tourism would be ideal
2+ years of direct travel arrangement experience for mid to large size company
Must have strong working knowledge of Sabre GDS software program, and be skilled in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
Experience in marketing and sales are an advantage
Effective negotiation and persuasion skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, research skills, interpersonal skills and strong knowledge in domestic and international travel
Must also be well-organized, detail-oriented, courteous, accurate, professional and able to work independently and in a team environment
