Position Overview:

The objective of the Customer Data Entry position is to provide accurate and timely account entry into current databases for new and existing accounts and to contribute to the achievement of company sales and profit plans.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information; establishing entry priorities.
  • Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents for resolution.
  • Maintains data entry requirements by following data program techniques and procedures.
  • Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, or reentering data; combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
  • Analyze the information contained in the sales reports and alert applicable members of the sales team and management with identified trend analysis.
  • Administer multi location and single location account setups for both Industrial and Commercial Sales in all applicable company systems.
  • Inputs data into SFDC system and uploads supporting documents.
  • Support the sales team with routine sales administration functions and duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for producing weekly reports on account activities.
  • Ensure all customer calls are returned within 1 hour of receipt of call.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the field operations team and corporate support staff.
  • Work within the company’s Policies and Procedures guidelines.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Two years experience in a sales reporting and sales administration/support position supporting an outside, business to business field sales team.
  • In depth, solid working understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • A strong preference will be given to those candidates that have Fortune 1000 and small company sales support, reporting and administration experience.
  • Strong proposal and presentation development skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Hiring Profile:

  • The ideal candidate’s most recent employment experience will have been in a sales reporting and administration position, preferably supporting a Fortune 1000 national company with a national field sales or national account sales organization, in addition to small company sales teams although this is not a requirement.
  • The candidate must have at least 2 years of prior sales reporting and administration experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive proposal, presentation and RFP development experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have a very strong professional appearance, demeanor and approach and will have had extensive experience in utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access in the performance of their daily duties.
