Our client in Irving, TX Is looking for a Data Analyst:
This position is responsible for ongoing analysis and reporting of HR information, obtained from a variety of sources. It involves development and preparation of information products for HR staff and other departments who may require HR data. It requires the ability to analyze HR data from conceptualization through presentation of the data. It requires proficiency with reporting and analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodology, use of presentation software, strong communication skills and a strong commitment to and affinity for delivering the highest level of customer service.
Major Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Perform complex data analysis in support of ad-hoc and standing customer requests 35%
Develop programs, data applications and files for analyzing and presenting data 35%
Research new data sources and analytical tools and contribute to improvement in data delivery and presentation 10%
Develop awareness and familiarity with data, issues and events affecting HR organization 10%
Manage work queue to ensure requests are prioritized properly and delivered in a timely manner while providing a high level of customer service 10%
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a problem solver and able to think abstract concept
Must demonstrate a sense of urgency in order to meet timelines
Must be able to anticipate obstacle that could impact production
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or MIS
Undergraduate or graduate coursework in statistics, data analysis or research methods
Minimum of 5 years experience with data analysis, decision support, including the ability to transform raw data into finished products (reports, scorecards and dashboards)
Minimum 3 years experience with SQL application development
Minimum 3 years experience with analytical tools such as Cognos or Business Objects
Minimum 3 years experience with Microsoft Reporting Services
Knowledge or exposure to SQL Server 2005 and 2008
Understanding of relational databases including data modeling and table structures
Experience with gathering and documenting data and reporting requirements
Experience with analyzing data to include identifying anomalies and/or trends that will aid in driving key HR initiatives
Experience working with a variety of information systems and data files, including large and complex files and file structures.
Experience with educating and advising internal clients on how to leverage available data, reports and tools.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical thinker with the ability to frame and execute analytics around business questions
Strong dedication to customer service
Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting
Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
