Our North Houston, TX client, located in The Woodlands, is seeking a DOT Coordinator for a Direct Hire opportunity.

Job Summary:
The DOT Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the company adheres to all applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.  The DOT Coordinator will maintain records, develop procedures and communicate with internal and external customers on all FMCSR and DOT company drivers and company vehicles.

Primary Job Function:
Process, track, and maintain driver qualification files per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for DOT drivers. Communicates w/ DOT Consultant (Transafe, Inc.)
Ensure all necessary training courses are completed by DOT commercial motor vehicle drivers.
Track, maintain, and audit Hours of Service Records per FMCSRs.
Track, maintain and produce report on Driver/Vehicle Examinations from road stops.
Track, maintain and audit vehicle inspection reports for all DOT vehicles and trailers in accordance with FMCSRs.
Administer Drug and Alcohol Program for CDL drivers of commercial motor vehicles.
Review and track drug screening results for random Drug and Alcohol program and notify the appropriate personnel.
Act as a liaison with risk management on issues of motor vehicle violations.
Communicate with and act as resource for branch operations on all DOT and other driver qualification issues. (Travel Involved)
Maintain internal processes to ensure efficient administration of DOT compliance.
Track and maintain DOT vehicle accidents and recordable accidents on an Accident Register based on FMCSA regulations.
Complete employment verifications on past DOT drivers for employers.
Maintain DOT – Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) compliance.
Build a professional rapport with Local and State(s) DOT Agencies
Other duties/projects as needed.

Experience:
5+years Experience in Trucking Industry is preferred.

Education/Training:
High school diploma or a GED (general education degree).
Knowledge of the Oilfield Pipeline Construction Industry a plus

Competencies:
Strong communication skills and confidence to point out potential risks and non-compliant issues to branch, regional, and corporate management.
Knowledge of current State, Federal, and CSA regulations.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize job duties and handle multiple tasks.
Ability to establish good rapport with branch employees, department personnel, and other corporate employees using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, and other effective interpersonal skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Access and Word.
Willing and Capable of Handling a current Fleet of 100+ Units
Willing to work in a Fast Paced environment

Other Criteria:
Requires frequent travel.
Eligible to work in the United States.
