Our Tomball, TX client is in need of an Electrical Design Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity.
Job Summary:
Responsible for the design aspects of Industrial Control Automation (ICA) panels, including preparing all associated CAD drawings. Conduct site surveys to establish the functionality of existing site panels, that are being replaced, manage the panel build quality and testing, and supervise the installation of panels. Review and understand customer specification and co-ordinate your activities with engineering team to ensure all commercial aspects are being met.
Job Duties:
Confirm job order specification and code compliance, equipment compatibility, and look for possible cost savings
Review customer design documents, and perform site visits to satisfy yourself as to the requirements of the ICA panel, Instruments and any field cabling required
Interface with customers to offer innovation
Engage with the PLC engineers to achieve the best results for the ICA panel design and instruments control
Complete the LV (low voltage) electrical design requirements
Understand the requirement of ESD circuits to comply with Functional Safety Requirements
Panel layout and interconnection if required
Complete AutoCAD drawings for the electrical circuits
Check and verify completed CAD drawings before submittal to customer or release to Production
Responsible for the accuracy of the preparation and review of Control strategy submittals
Review O&M manual prepared by Engineering
Provide technical support for field personnel when necessary
Provide support to sales/estimating when necessary
As part of the commissioning team, commission the ICA electrical panels, field cabling, and when required, field instrumentation and valves
Compile customer documentations for the ICA panel, instrumentation, assembly and testing
Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience
2-4 years’ experience in Instrument Control Automation design and/or electrical maintenance environment a plus
AutoCAD electrical design experience
Knowledge of Relay Logic
Some PLC & HMI programming knowledge would be an advantage
Proficient in Microsoft Office
