Our Irving, TX client is seeking a contract ETL Developer. This assignment will last about three months.

Job Duties:

Participates in requirement meetings with Project Managers to understand needs.

Provides strategic thinking leadership pertaining to new ways of leveraging information to improve business processes.

Develops detailed ETL specifications based on business requirements.

Analyzes functional specifications and assist in designing potential technical solutions.
-
Performs ETL tuning (via Kettle/Pentaho) as well as SQL tuning.
-
Develops ETL test plans and tests the ETL code following ETL standards and architecture.

Performs design validation, reconciliation and error handling in the load process (initial, incremental).

Understands and executes release management and change management processes for changes to business applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or related field.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience working with Pentaho (Kettle) required.
- Understanding of Data Warehouse Concepts.
- Knowledge of STAR schemas (facts + dimensions).
- Mid-level SQL programming skills.
- Experience in Perl, awk, sed and/or bash scripting languages
- Ability to work effectively in an agile development environment.
- Demonstrates success working in a team-based environment.
