Our Northwest Houston, TX client is looking for a Facilities Technician on a potential long term basis.

Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing support, installation and maintenance to facilities necessary
for the company’s 7×24 environment. The demands of IT/Facility responsibility require that this employee
Thoroughly understands and accepts the mission critical nature of the division.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in FOC (Facilities On Call) ON-Call Schedule—7×24 on-call schedule which includes after hours and weekend work.
Support and maintain power systems including generators, UPS battery backup systems at all PSAP’s and at main administrative facility.
Report all activity to the Command Center.
Maintain facility inventory necessary for the response and support of the IT Technical group.
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC environmental systems applicable to site.
Monitor and assist with building management control systems for multiple sites.
Perform necessary duties to support facilities systems in the event of a disaster.
While on call, respond to calls 7×24.
Monitor and react to facility calls and alarms in Command Center when needed.
Follow all communication procedures (Radios, Phones).
Work with Administrators on projects.
Assist in the maintenance and upgrade duties with the fleet vehicles.
Work with Vendors to correct issues.
Follow Vehicle and all other Operations policies.
Take all necessary Facilities provided training.
Attend Industry Conferences as needed.
Maintain and support Tier IV data centers.
Maintain and support physical and electronic type security systems.

Requirements:
5+ years of experience in related field
Working knowledge of power, data and telecommunications systems
Capable of successfully completing company’s training before providing 1st tier support for the company
Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
Willingness to accept support calls and identifying the problem
Advanced problem solving skills
Excellent time management, prioritizing skills
Self motivated with the ability to work with minimal or no supervision/direction
Ability to utilize available resources to resolve issues
Must be detail oriented
Can accommodate several week-long out-of-town trips a year
Must have documentation skills
Must like challenges and be able to adjust to numerous changes
