Our West Houston, TX client, located in the Energy Corridor, is in need of a Field Engineering Support Specialist for a Direct Hire opportunity.
Field based position that requires travel throughout the US and Canada, so people that have 1 or 2 years of oil and gas field experience are great
The work schedule is usually 3 weeks on and 1 week off
This position involves working in teams of three or four to collect data and bring it back to the office
Once back in the office, there is some report generation
In terms of experience here are some of the things that are important (any combination of the below is great)…
Oil and gas experience (field experience) REQUIRED
Seismic experience (seismic observer) PREFERRED
Fracing experience REQUIRED
Completions experience HIGHLY PREFERRED
Oilfield services experience PREFERRED
Fiber optics experience PREFERRED
**Engineering or Geology degree is Highly Preferred, but applicants with the right experience will be consider with or without a degree.
Mobilizing field trucks and trailers to and from the job site (possibly long distance), including preparation of mobilizing.
Cleaning of equipment upon demobilizing and ensuring that the equipment is put away properly and ready for the next use. Damaged or equipment in need of repairs is dealt with accordingly.
Setting up and operating DAS/DTS recording equipment.
Setting up of peripheral equipment ex Satellite, generator.
Ensure equipment is in proper operating order, kept clean and serviced on time in the field.
Maintain proper inventory of equipment on crew.
Maintain daily reporting (DAR) and proper archiving of storage medium.
Maintain professional communications to Clients and co-workers.
Maintain adequate field communications with other contractors on site.
Documenting and shipping of recorded data using proper shipping protocols.
Perform fiber splicing and testing.
Splicing OTDR measurements.
Calibrating DAS fiber.
On well site day to day operations pertaining to DAS/DTS and QHSE.
Work with different energy sources for VSP acquisition.
Understand DAS and DTS operations in FRAC and VSP operations.
Closed loop Communications to frac contractors.
Communications to Company completion Engineer and Company system developers.
Communicate real time results during frac operations.
Record final data in VSP operations.
Relay new ideas and improvements to development team.
Report to any required Training and ensure that their own training is kept current.
Work in the Canadian shop facility as required.
