Our Galleria area Houston, TX client is seeking a Global Solution Architect. This person is responsible for prioritizing and making decisions for the execution of our client’s software projects, to plan, track, and manage all projects utilizing standard methodology, risk assessment, and solid communication practices. The Global Solution Architect collaborates with internal business partners, including Sales & R&D, to ensure efficient end-to-end business processes and successful relationships.

Responsibilities:

Defines, validates and documents business requirements

Conducts a gap analysis as input into solution design

Leads functional discoveries with clients

Gathers, analyzes and documents business requirements with sufficient detail/quality to create functional and technical design specifications

Maps client business requirements to client’s solution functionality

Direct and manages project delivery including defining project scope, specifying deliverables, estimating and controlling project duration, effort and cost, create detailed project plans and manage change requests. Ensure all deliverables are delivered on time and within budget.

Drives an attitude within project teams to deliver solutions, resolving issues and risks as they arise

Drives the requirements and analysis phase of the project by reviewing requirements documents, facilitating solution evaluation process, and managing RFP process where required.

Drives day-to-day project activities through the application of sound project management principles and methodologies.

Develops and maintains a detailed status, activities and issues report on each project to present to Management and major project stakeholders.

Works with the other project team members and project managers to conduct post-completion analysis of all projects and document post-com deliverables.

Skills and Experience:

A College/University degree in engineering is required; mechanical/chemical is preferred

5+ years of proven hands-on experience in an engineering environment (in areas such as process safety, process design, instrumentation and controls, or environmental engineering), whether in design, operations, or supply.

Ability to configure and deploy enterprise software

Gather customer requirements to design specification documents Ability to handle multiple, competing objectives

Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to the appropriate audience, e.g. end users, technical stakeholders, executives

Strong organization and presentation skills

Experience in handling difficult situations and managing expectations of a variety of internal and external stakeholder groups

Demonstrated initiative, teamwork and problem solving skills

Bi-lingualism is an asset

Ability to travel globally at least sixty (60%) percent and on short-notice (at times)
