Frontline Source Group – temporary staffing and direct hire firm – is looking for a Healthcare Billing/Collections – Denials Analyst for our client located in the Montrose area of Houston, TX, for a contract to possible hire opportunity.
Position Description:
This purpose of this position is to analyze, manage, and appeal insurance denials related to claims submitted to managed-care organization for reimbursement, which do not require clinical review.
Essential Functions:
Ability to generate reports from the patient accounting system that detail denial inventory.
Analyze denial inventory and denial reason codes to identify payor trends.
Implement process to perform and submit mass appeals to the proper department at specific insurance companies.
Report insurance denial trends identified during daily operational assignments.
Ability to work with various members of the organization to obtain a comprehensive understanding of account specific issues.
Identify problem accounts and escalate clinical review requests to the appropriate individuals.
Document actions taken on the account clearly and concisely.
Provide feedback to Revenue Cycle Manager regarding root causes of denials.
Work with peers to help develop innovative ways to help drive down bad debt.
Additional Responsibilities:
Special ad-hoc denial research projects.
Insurance re-billing.
Cash receipts posting.
Work on various projects/duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Two years healthcare billing and collections experience, preferable in behavioral health.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and working in an electronic environment.
