Our Sugar Land, TX client is in need of a Help Desk Specialist for a long-term contract position. This individual will serve as the first tier of hardware and system support for general IT assistance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Respond to requests from departments to assess and resolve desktop or laptop issues while performing maintenance in a timely manner.
Assist in procurement of new computers and appliance, and then build and configure the products to work with the company’s network.
Perform basic network configuration to support workplace assignments and network expansion.
Assist in the maintenance of the company’s intranet.
Perform initial and periodic Anti-Virus and System Patching functions.
Assist the CIO or Director of IT as necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements:
At least an Associates Degree in IT or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years of experience working with a mid-sized company’s IT group.
Knowledge of Microsoft, Apple, and Linux operating systems.
Knowledge of networking, including IP assignments, gateways, netmasks, and wiring.
Capable of all wiring processes.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Anti-Virus programs, and various terminal emulators.
Experience with ticketing programs – HEAT is a plus.
A+ and Network+ certifications preferred.
