Our Owensboro, KY client is looking for a HR Compensation Analyst for a 3-6 month contract.

Position Summary:
Provides a wide range of analytical support to departments.  Provides information and assistance to management and employees on HR policies, compensation issues, and retention.  Develops, distributes and maintains policy regarding salary adjustments for employees.   Keeps abreast of local markets regarding compensation levels for the hospital.   Manages multiple priorities simultaneously

Position Description:
Compensation Analyst may include some or all of the following:
Support special plan incentive payouts; support includes detailed Excel calculations and the accurate handling of multiple exceptions
Support and annual merit process; support includes the creation, update, and calculation of employee population and intended merit increase. Multiple calculation rules apply so individual must be extremely detail oriented and able to develop and apply moderate to complex Excel formulas and function.
Support day to day compensation team efforts including calculation of pay quotes for all internal transfers and new hires, audit of manual data entry for employee changes, basic report writing and generation in support of departmental activities, salary survey review in support of determining market pay for individual jobs, etc.
Support collection of job duties in the organization’s initiative to develop new job descriptions.

Education:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, IS or other related field. Certified Compensation Professional required within 2 years of hire date.

Experience:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the HR field or other significantly related area and at least 1 year in compensation.

Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to respond to management, employee and applicant inquiries and able to effectively communicate with a variety of outside individuals and agencies.
Must be able to handle situations in a professional manner.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to independently analyze and resolve problems and make independent decisions and to function with autonomy.
Strong writing skills and ability to execute multiple projects and deadlines required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and AS/400 is highly preferred
