Our Dallas, TX client is looking for an HR Generalist:

Basic Function:
This salaried, exempt position assists the Human Resources Director and Manager in all areas of the human resources disciplines.  The position requires an individual with excellent oral and written communication skills, in-depth knowledge of human resources operations, compliance, and experience with various HRIS and recruiting software.  Someone coming from a professional services background such as a law firm, large accounting firm, etc is a huge plus

Essential Duties:
First escalation point for employees in resolving conflicts/complaints.  Investigate complaints; prepare findings, and resolutions for review by the Director or Manager of Human Resources and the appropriate members of management.
Develop, update, and implement the policies and procedures of the firm handbook(s) as assigned.
Prepares internal employee communications regarding company policies as assigned.
Provide direction and problem solving support to managers/attorneys on employee relation issues.
Consult with managers/attorneys to develop effective documentation for performance improvement/disciplinary documents.
Review management disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with firm policies, state and federal fair employment laws.  Make alternative recommendations as appropriate.
Prepare responses to third party complaints.  Coordinate with internal legal staff and the Manager of Human Resources.
Develop a strong partnership with the managers/attorneys and understand the goals and objectives make recommendations, identify solutions regarding human resources policies and practices to support departmental goals.
Assist in conducing staff new hire orientation.
Process improvements within the internal structure of the human resources department to increase efficiencies.
Identify training needs and coordinate with professional development and training departments on training matters.
Collaborates with the hiring manager/supervisor to identify and assess specific hiring criteria.
Assist in developing, implementing, updating, and auditing the recruiting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Make recommendations to the hiring manager on qualified staff candidates to be considered.
Develop and maintain sourcing relationships and activities to ensure the Firm has a strong staff candidate flow.
Provide reports that indicate trends of staff candidate availability as appropriate based on supply and demand.
Conduct performance based interview screens for staff openings.
Coordinate with the Manager of Human Resources to obtain background checks, review, and approve results.

Other Duties:
As needed serve as back up for the Human Resources Team fulfilling duties and responsibilities.
Perform other related duties as needed or assigned.
Reporting Relationship:
The Human Resources Generalist reports directly to the Manager of Human Resources and coordinates with the Office Manager.

Subordinate staff:
N/A

Knowledge:
The Human Resources Generalist should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management with related studies in Human Resources. A PHR Certificate is highly desirable, but not required.

Skills:
The Human Resources Generalist should possess excellent written and oral communication skills.  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel internal and external to the Firm.  Must be personal computer literate including all applicable software.

Experience:
The Human Resources Generalist should posses 6+ years of progressive human resources experience
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly remains stationary and communicates and exchanges information with the Firm attorneys and staff.
Working Conditions:
Office environment.
Some travel may be needed.
