Our international oil & gas exploration client located in Dallas, TX is a well-backed, start-up seeking an HR Director. While the job will begin on a contract basis, they are hopeful that the right person with the right fit may be able to join the team on a full-time basis as their organization grows.

Job Description:
This person will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for maintaining the entire HR function.  This person will provide support in the areas of recruiting, staffing, employee relations, compensation, benefits, safety, workers compensation, training and development and legal compliance. This position typically will need to be able to work under limited supervision and direction.  As a start-up, we are seeking a candidate who has significant experience across HR functions and is able to both strategically direct our HR function and address, hands-on our day-to-day HR implementation needs.

Job Responsibilities:
Works closely with executive and the operating team to coordinate all phases of the recruiting process to fill jobs in a timely and cost-effective manner
Establishes a partnership with management and employees to provide guidance and training on an as-needed basis to managers and employees on HR-related issues
Responsible for managing any consultants utilized for hiring or compensation benchmarking
Designs, plans and coordinates new employee orientation from office space to IT, etc.
Will develop a basic framework of HR policies and procedures
Provides general HR support and answers questions pertaining to all benefit issues and manages relationships with out benefits providers
Disseminates all safety-related regulations
Manages all workers’ compensation and unemployment compensation issues

Job Requirements:
Must be proactive, high energy, have a high sense of urgency in providing strong level of HR service and have the highest levels of integrity and discretion. Willing to work as a one-person shop for some time.
Must have successful track record as a generalist with a thorough knowledge employee relations, compensation and benefits, staffing, and training and development
Must have four year college degree in HR or related field
Must have at minimum 7 years of HR experience
Experience in an international oil & gas environment will be beneficial
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have the ability to multi-task effectively and be comfortable with variable periods of low- and high-intensity
