Our client located in West Houston, TX has a need for a dynamic and sharp HR Director for a Direct hire opportunity. Looking to pay between $50,000-$65,000 annually.

Job Description:

  • The right candidate will be able to inspire and share brilliant ideas. You’ll provide strong HR leadership and direction and they’ll supply an energetic and friendly place to work.
  • As an experienced HR professional, you’ll manage their entire HR department and day-to-day operations. You’d report to their in-house counsel, lead a HR Assistant/Payroll Clerk and a Credentialing Coordinator and work along side our leadership team of energetic managers and department heads.
  • This management position requires strong verbal, written, analytical and super friendly interpersonal skills. Since the client a medical and educational company, they have a strong and legally required emphasis on employee education and training including health and safety programs; which you would help supervise and instigate. Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) experience is a definite bonus. You’d also be responsible for overseeing record maintenance, compiling statistical reports regarding personnel-related data such as hires, transfers and performance appraisals, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise activities of Credentialing Coordinator and HR / Payroll Assistant.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel related data such as hires, terminations, transfers, performance appraisal, absenteeism rates.
  • Recruiting & Staffing. Establishes and leads staffing practices and procedures necessary to recruit and retain an effective workforce.
  • Employee orientation and on-boarding and employee relations and counseling.
  • Policy maintenance, development and documentation.
  • Employment Law Compliance.
  • Respond to government agencies in regards to unemployment, discrimination and sexual harassment claims, wrongful termination suits, etc.
  • Development and implementation of employee health and safety programs.
  • Administer compensation program, review payroll process for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Development, and administration, of compensation plans.
  • Benefits administration, including but not limited to review of existing benefit programs, conducting open enrollments, act as point of contact for vendors, reconcile benefit invoices, employee enrollments and verification of payroll deductions.
  • Performance management and improvement systems: driving the review process for consistency, fairness and effective utilization.
  • Analyze, develop and implement employee training and development programs to address current capabilities and future training needs.
  • Monitor and administer employee tuition reimbursement program.
  • Maintain and analyze data, trends and reports related to Joint Commission standards.
  • Monitor Human Resources annual budget and cash forecast.
  • Remains current in human resources trends, applicable law and regulations and recommends modifications to existing programs, systems or services accordingly.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements/Experience/Education:

  • 8+ years progressive experience in Human Resources with a minimum of 5 years at senior management level.
  • Experience in Unemployment laws.
  • Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope of human resources activities, both operations and analysis.
  • Proficient spoken and written English with strong organizational skills and analytical skills.
  • Able to work successfully and productively in a team environment or independently.
  • Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and work independently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in administration or management with specialization in Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HR Certification and SPHR Certified or currently pursuing (PHR will also be considered)
  • Punctual, meticulous and reliable
