Our Northwest Houston, TX client is seeking an Infrastructure Specialist to join their IT team on a full-time basis.

This position will be hybrid role between applications and network support performing a variety of IT support functions such as support of the data and voice network infrastructure, general desktop support, and management of ticket resolution with managed service providers.  This is an opportunity to join a well-established group with excellent growth potential as a key resource within the organization.  The ideal candidate will have a wide range of experience with at least 5 years in a similar role.  Proficiency with Office 365 and ability to travel up to 25% is required.

Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate issues with managed support providers and ensure appropriate user follow-up and resolution of tickets within defined service levels.
Perform diagnostic analysis and assist with the management and resolution of complex IT issues and implement corrective solutions for end users.
Install, configure, test, maintain, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software.
Assist with PC, server, and network equipment installations and movement of existing workstations, server and network equipment as necessary.
Work with the communications managed service provider to maintain the data and voice networks for all locations.
Troubleshoot IP Phone and network issues and ensure connectivity of all workstations and other network appliances as required.
Coordinate third party vendors for on-site maintenance and/or incident visits.
Work with the outsourced help desk to ensure management of equipment and stock for user workstations.  Assist with user provisioning tasks as required.
Perform asset lifecycle management for hardware, software, networking and other assets.
Assist IT Director with the development of business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives as requested.
Research and manage IT contracts & the purchases of IT hardware, software & services as requested by the IT Director.
Performs individual assignments and projects as requested by the IT Director

Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, or business degree with a technology concentration
Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in IT, including support of data and VOIP networks and advanced desktop support
Ability to travel up to 25% – all domestic
Experienced in working with outsourcing providers or third-party services
Good understanding and technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, network, operating systems, hardware, protocols and standards, including Microsoft communications, operating systems & Office productivity suite
Office 365  and Active Directory are required
Cisco CE is a plus
Firewall configuration, network configuration, and router management are also a plus
