Our NW Houston, TX client is in need of an International Customer Service/Sales Support Representative for a Contract to Possible Hire opportunity.
The Customer Service Representative receives and processes incoming sales and service requests, oral and written, to meet the needs of the external and internal customer. Client base is in Europe, Middle East, Australia/New Zealand and Asia and will be based in Houston. This person will also handle orders from South America.
Essential Job Functions:
Answers incoming requests for products and services to meet the needs of the customer in a prompt and courteous manner.
Processes customer purchase orders
Informs the customer of the order status and takes action to ensure orders are expedited to meet the customers’ needs.
Actively supports the company’s quality process to achieve total satisfaction of customer’s requirements, striving for error free work.
Works closely with the various business managers and regional sales managers to service new and existing accounts.
Prepares customer quotations.
Logs customer complaints, notifies management of any lost sales and initiates resolution of the problem to prevent recurrence.
Processes product returns.
Maintains complete and current catalogs and price lists for the purpose of providing customers with information and assistance
Provides copies of literature to customers as needed (i.e. Operation and Maintenance Manuals, spec sheets, etc.)
Assists in the training and development of any new CSR’s.
Processes credit memos
Sees that all filing is updated and easily attainable.
Provides proof of deliveries as needed.
Performs assigned duties and accepts responsibilities as requested by the Customer Service Supervisor/Manager and/or the General Manager designate as needed.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical certification or degree is preferred
2+ years or more related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual (English & Spanish) is required
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of unknown variables working toward solving issues related to customer demands, complaints and general needs.
Ability to understand and calculate figures and total amounts for such issues as discounts, commissions pro-rata, percentages, and sales order dollars.
Product knowledge of industrial safety regulation or products would be beneficial to a candidate.
Product knowledge of industrial safety products a plus.
Technical background would be preferred (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, CAD, etc)
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read, write and speak English Required. Spanish would be preferred.
Some experience with an ERP system, such as SAP
