Our Irving, TX client is seeking a contract to hire Junior Planner for their Marketing/Advertising team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (in priority order):
– Turn research findings into strategic insights.
– Leads full development, writing, and presentation of creative briefs for assigned client projects.
– Works closely with Account Services, Creative and Analytics to build relationships and ensure forum for voice of the consumer to be represented in all agency work.
– Leads preparation, execution, and analysis of secondary research.
– Lead preparation in competitive analysis for specific clients involving both qualitative and quantitative metrics.
– Leads or assists in coordinating and executing primary research projects, i.e. focus groups, online surveys, etc.
– Assists in preparation of primary research tools (for both qualitative and quantitative – e.g., discussion guides, screeners, etc.).
– Communicates and build relationships with outside suppliers/vendors on proposals billing/budget, and timely project execution.
– Presents elements of research findings to internal agency teams, to further grow the strategic process.
– Monitors and reports cultural and social trends relevant to the client’s business.
– Conducts internal agency presentations on industry happenings and consumer trends.
– Assists the Planning team in providing insight into consumer behavior.
– Proactively and confidently represents consumer POV in all agency positioning work, concepts, and creative reviews.
– Aggressively builds and fosters relationships with internal counterparts, agency counterparts, and client contacts.
– Must be collaborative, while being a team leader.
– Take charge of some meetings to lead brainstorming efforts.
– Must always think creatively.
– Make the complicated simple.

– Other duties as needed and assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
– Bachelors degree required (preferred areas of study include Marketing, Advertising, Liberal Arts or Social Sciences such as anthropology, sociology or psychology).
– 2-4 years previous experience in similar Planning role.
– Experience in defining and understanding a target audience (i.e., lifestyle, decision motivators, brand relationships).
– Direct Mail experience is a plus.
– Must be able to apply consumer insights to creative product development.
– Must have strong analytical skills (i.e., analyzing trend reports to identify market happenings/trends).
– Comfort with research techniques, both qualitative and quantitative a plus.
– Must have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with a variety of different personalities.
– Must be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
– Must have an opinion and not afraid to share it.
– Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, proficient in Excel a plus.
– Flexibility to work irregular hours; travel required.
