Our downtown Nashville TN client is looking for Docket Specialist Lead to join their team on a direct hire basis

 

Position Summary
The Lead Docket Specialist is responsible for recording and monitoring client and legal deadlines and informing responsible attorneys of deadlines in a timely manner.  The Lead Docket Specialist is responsible for assigning work to Docket Specialists, as well as reviewing work for accuracy.

 

Representative Key Responsibilities
The individual will maintain docket calendar for domestic/international patents, trademarks & inter parties monitor work flow and ensure all assigned responsibilities for the department are being followed and met on a daily basis.
The Lead Docket Specialist will ensure mail is timely handled and routed accurately to specific areas within the Firm.
Other responsibilities include providing guidance, training, and availability as 1st level response to questions and problems from the docket specialists; maintaining an accurate docket database and providing reports as requested/ required and assist with continual training of the Docket Specialists.
The Lead Docket Specialist will also review (second eye) all correspondence and USPTO filings for completion and accuracy within the department for accuracy before submitting to attorneys and return to Specialists for corrections and training as needed.

 

Required Education, Knowledge and Experience
Candidate should have 4+ years of IP docketing experience in a law firm.
High school diploma is required; undergraduate degree preferred.
The candidate should have the ability to type 45+ wpm, have excellent written communication skills, knowledge of IP docketing software (Inprotech preferred) and experience in using MS Office Suite.
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; maintain positive contact with attorneys, staff and clients and have the ability to work under pressure and produce a high volume of accurate work product.
This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and organizational skill.
