Our Houston, TX client, located in the Galleria area, is in need of an Logistics Clerk on a contract to hire basis.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare document packages for customs clearance
Prepare internal documents for incoming vessels
Create delivery orders
Create control tally sheets
Create reconciliation report
Prepare purchase orders for services surrounding imports/exports
Communicate with receiving yards on a regular basis
Create and distribute vessel unloading status report
Prepare internal filing systems for incoming vessel documents
Sort and distribute Material Test Reports internally
Communicate with corporate office regarding necessary information for vessel entry
Enter vessel information into MS Access
Assist with vessel/yard reconciliation after discharge
Assist with monthly yard reconciliation
Software Recommendations:
MS Access, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, Lotus, Peachtree, Internet use
Experience:
1-3 years of logistics experience required. Ability to use telephone and personal computer on a daily basis. Must have intermediate MS Excel and MS Access experience. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and work well under deadlines. Must have a significant attention to detail. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills. Oilfield industry experience a plus with familiarity of OCTG and Line Pipe tubular goods. Very fast paced and demanding position. Reports directly to Logistics Coordinator.
