Our South Houston, TX client is in search of a Mechanical Engineer for a direct hire opportunity.

Summary:
Complete engineering related activities, Auto-CAD drawings and designs for down-hole tool completion products in existence and assist with product testing, technical support and other product design activities of minor and major complexity and scope. Will assist Sales and Marketing with sales calls, well profiles and other activities by performing the following duties
Research existing product drawings and analyze data such as customer design proposal and specifications to determine feasibility of design or application.
Details and/or checks machine drawings to be sure they are correct before going to manufacturing.
Assist in the designing of products such as Liner Hangers, Packers and related mechanical and/or hydraulic set equipment.
Assist other engineers in conducting & analyzing results of equipment test and/or problems in the field.
Coordinate design changes of mechanical, thermal, hydraulic or heat transfer necessary for the application of the product to conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
Help plan and direct the fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment, and development of methods and procedures for testing new products.
Assist manufacturing with machining problems and/or print interpretation.
Coordinates installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.
Coordinates operation, maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
Evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate equipment, system malfunctions, or improve performance and reliability.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering
5 to 7 years of experience
Experience designing oilfield equipment
AutoCAD experience. 3D design software experience such as SolidEDGE
Will be responsible for design, but will also work closely with R&D, Customers, Manufacturing and Fabrication.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of Expandable product line is preferred.
