Our Franklin (Cool Springs), TN client is looking to bring in a fast-paced Medical Coder to join their team on a temp to possible hire basis.
Duties:
Create and maintain Electronic Medical Records
Assign and identify the information by using the accurate ICD-9-CM and CPT codes
Make sure the assigned codes meet all federal, legal and insurance regulations
Interpreting medical charts and assigning the appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes.
Verifying signatures and data
Pre-certification and pre-determination
Requirements and Qualifications:
1 year experience of emergency department coding requested
Must be CPCA certified
Must be able to code up to 120 charts per day
Computer proficiency with expertise in MS Office products Word and Excel
Extensive knowledge of emergency billing and coding
Ability to communicate clearly with providers and other health care leaders
Team oriented
Self-starter; can initiate and perform tasks without continuous direction
