This position will grow into th V.P. of Sales for the organization.

  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services.
  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Ability to provide pricing, credit terms and follow up on quotes.
  • Emphasize product features based on analysis of customers’ needs, and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Maintain customer records, using ERP and other computer systems.
  • Identify prospective customers by following leads from existing clients, participating in trade organizations, and possibly attending sales conferences.
  • Enter sales orders in ERP, and generate sales reports on all orders taken.
  • Select the correct products or assist customers in making product selections, based on customers’ needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, and comments, as well as actions taken.
  • Resolve customers’ service or billing complaints and issue Credit Memos only with VP approval.
  • Contact customers to respond to inquiries.
  • Refer unresolved customer grievances to designated departments for further investigation.
  • Cross train in department and fill in when others are out of the office.  -Assist in the product qualification process.
  • Determine charges for services requested, such a special packaging, product sizing or freight.
  • Complete sales order forms; prepare change of address records, and change of customer contacts, in ERP system.
  • Obtain and examine all relevant information to assess validity of complaints and to determine possible causes.
  • Solicit sale of new or additional services or products.
  • Become proficient with and enter data into ERP system.
  • Prepare presentations in PowerPoint or similar software, for various sales meetings and conferences.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports from ERP to show volumes, gross and net sales dollars, and finished goods inventories.
  • Prepare miscellaneous reports as needed.
  • Assist in month and year end closings.
  • Ability to travel 25% domestically.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • A minimum of five to ten years of experience in Refineries or Petrochemicals with extensive catalyst knowledge.
  • Must have a BA or BS in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or Technical degrees.
  • Accounting, SAP, and metals industry experience preferred.
  • Must be a self starter and self motivated.
  • Several years of work-related experience, on-the-job training, and/or vocational training is required.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Knowledge/familiarity with buying, selling, or use of ferroalloys.
  • Chemistry knowledge is also required.
