Our Los Angeles, CA client is seeking a Field Engineer. This position will require assembly and troubleshooting of commercial servers, routers, storage units, peripherals and other components to include printers. With his/her technical and analytical skills make equipment perform according to OEM standards and customer requirements. The FE completes all assigned tasks including installs, moves, additions, or changes as required.
Responsibilities:
Respond to services requests 24x7x365 as part of an on call rotation in order to meet and exceed contract SLA requirements
Must collaborate with Global Call Center to accept service orders and to provide updates and service order closings (travel time, parts, mileage etc)
Adhere to all safety guidelines
Must be able to travel to customer sites during normal business hours and any other time required
Complete service requests as scheduled
Ensure availability of customer data in compliance with security policies
Perform installation/updates to equipment as assigned
Maintain his/her service orders with the call center
Completes and/or assists with special projects as assigned by management
May also be preparing job orders for your specific account or as assigned
Requirements:
5 to 10 years experience or more
AIX training and background in server environments
IT degree and/or technical certifications and/or experience preferred
Sys Admin experience a plus
IBM Certified and or Licensed (Mainframe, Blade Server, and Storage) IBM Z-Series Hardware Platform
Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as written and oral communications
Ability to work independently with minimal management supervision
Should be self-motivated and a team player, with strong multi-tasking skills and work ethic as well as be flexible and adaptive
Must be a quick study in all aspects of our business
Must be customer oriented
Insured and dependable transportation
5 years* experience in IT production environments
IBM P Series, Storage and Networking skill sets
Definitive Field Service Experience
Ability to achieve total customer satisfaction professionally regardless of circumstance
