The Job Purpose of Operations Specialist is to provide support to Operations Management with tasks such as freight dispatching, analytical data reporting and customer service. The Operations Specialist should be organized, motivated, analytical and capable of problem solving. He / She should possess strong communication skills, since they will often deal with everyone from management to salespeople to the customer. They also need to work well independently or as members of a team, and have sound negotiating skills. The Operations Specialists must have a thorough knowledge of the company’s product and understand how the product should be properly conditioned, stored and handled. The Operations Specialist will be expected to understand OSHA, RCRA, TCEQ, 29 & 40 CFR rules and regulations. He/She will liaise with Inside Sales Team and Seller’s to ensure proper pricing is used in order to process customer’s invoices.
Requirements:
– Must have an understanding of OSHA, RCRA, TCEQ, 29 & 40 CFR rules and regulations.
– Minimum of 2 years experience in the logistics/freight industry.
– Helpful experience: Knowledge of the waste management and petrochemical industries.
Responsibilities:
1. Asset Tracking & Disposal
2. Update Cost Reports and assist Inside Sales Team
3. Freight Scheduling
4. Hazardous Waste Manifesting and Disposal
5. System Data Entry & Analysis
6. Process & key daily inventory & reconcile inventory monthly
7. End of Month Reporting
8. Purchasing
9. Customer Service: answer phones, verify pricing, expected ship date, etc.
10. Upkeep of Insurance Documents
