Our Las Colinas, TX client is seeking a Payroll Accountant/ FP&A.

Job Summary:
Payroll Accountant will be responsible for payroll journal entries, accruals and general ledger payroll account reconciliation.  This includes reconciling semi-monthly payroll accounting transactions for 150+ employees, both domestically and internationally, and researching discrepancies to the general ledger (GL).  Support the calculation and processing of commission payments.  This role will also support the Director, FP&A with ad-hoc financial analysis and modeling.
The Payroll Accountant will support the move of the accounting and finance function from Roseville, CA to Dallas, TX.  The Dallas office is expected to open by September 1, 2013.
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Complete the semi-monthly / monthly payroll accounting duties in a multi-state, multi-company and multi-national company environment, including the collection and processing of time sheets Download / upload payroll accounting files from ADPGL payroll accounting software to the GL
Research and resolve payroll accounting discrepancies from ADPGL download
Prepare semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and annual payroll journal entries including payroll / headcount analysis
Reconcile payroll clearing account and other payroll accounts to the GL on all earnings, deductions, memos, accruals and liabilities
Ensure that payroll disbursements are properly recorded
Support FP&A activities on both a systemic and ad-hoc basis

Essential Job Functions:
Planning
Support the Company’s strategic objectives with relevant and timely accounting, financial reporting, and internal accounting controls
Ensure the payroll processes and related systems are leveraged and adequately supporting management’s needs to efficiently and effectively manage the day-to-day business
Ensure payroll cycle activities are properly documented and adhere to established company policies, as well as all other applicable legal and regulatory requirements
Support all forecasting and budgeting activities with data-driven analysis on payroll costs, commission payments and headcount

Execution
Responsible for the completion of all payroll accounting tasks in a timely and accurate manner
Research and resolve payroll accounting discrepancies in a timely and accurate manner
Work closely with both Human Resources personnel and third-party payroll processing companies to ensure that all payroll adjustments are properly recorded in a timely manner
Assist Director, FP&A with ad-hoc projects and help support process improvement initiatives
Assist in the preparation of accurate and compliant monthly, quarterly, annual and other reports as required of the company and other federal and state tax / employment agencies
Maintain effective internal controls related to finance and accounting activities
Provide support for all annual audit and quarterly review activity with external auditors

Evaluation
Completion of the payroll accounting functions in accordance with payroll cycle dates to ensure timely payroll payments
Accurate collection and processing of time sheets in accordance with established timelines
Accurate calculation and processing of commission payments in accordance with established policies and timelines
Complete all financial analysis tasks within established timelines
No significant deficiencies or material weaknesses in controls noted during annual audit and quarterly reviews

Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ related experience; international payroll processing experience a plus
General accounting experience required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Business Administration preferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
Technology industry experience preferred
Microsoft Excel experience (including Pivot Tables and VLookup)
NetSuite experience a plus
Strong knowledge of ADP Payroll processing services
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
