Our Saginaw, TX client is seeking a Plant Accountant.

Responsibilities:
Monthly closing process and supports operation by providing management with accurate and timely financial reporting.
Prepares and analyzes daily oil usage reports.
Prepares and analyzes weekly flash reports and reviews overhead spending variances.
Prepares and analyzes month-end reports and conveys all information to management.
Perform month-end close which includes inventory close and reconciliations, accruals, GL entries.
Compile information and report variances in the Operation Monthly Report.
Maintain capital project cost control logs and report to project managers.
Prepare RFE closing files based on HQ guidelines and submit for closing.  Reconcile capital project account at month end.
Maintain standard manufacturing cost system (MSS) information for processing and packaging operations.  This includes set up of all components, formulas, pack groups, crews, work centers and finished goods.
Assist operations controller in the annual budget preparation.
Review actual performance to budgeted and make recommendations where needed and other duties as assigned by the Controller.
Serve as back-up to the operations Controller for key functional y responsibility, including adherence to company policies.  This includes working with personnel in a supervisory role.
Supervise and act as a backup for the accounts payable process.  This includes coding and entry of A/P batches into the AS400 for payment.
Provide back-up to other functions of the plant if needed.
Assist Controller in supporting plant IT functions. (Data and Voice Systems)

Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting.
Minimum 3 years experience in accounting.
Prior accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.  Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel required.
Must have the ability to handle multiple projects and work through issues without continuous supervision.
Strong oral and written communication abilities required.
Must be able to identify and report or correct any food safety and food security concerns.
Strong interpersonal skills are required and must be able to interact with all levels of management and plant personnel.
