Job Description:
This position will assist the Refined Products Trading group in the development of fundamental supply and demand forecasts for domestic gasoline and distillate markets. Responsibilities of the position will include, but are not limited to: developing new and creative approaches to forecast regional product balances; researching and analyzing refinery behaviors, margin levels, international arbs, inter-regional transportation spreads, and forward curve structures to determine balances; developing and communicating trade ideas; and other duties as assigned or required.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline preferred

Minimum of two years experience at a refinery, preferred

Minimum of one year experience working in a US Refining Analyst type role at a hedge fund, sell-side research shop, or investment bank

Demonstrated understanding and application of refinery economics and refinery behaviors

Expertise with utilizing various statistical models including Econometric Modeling (regression analysis, maximum likelihood estimation, etc.) and Mathematical Modeling (linear programming, optimization, etc.)

Familiarity with databases (Oracle, SQL) and various programming languages (MatLab, VBA, C++, etc)
