Our NW Houston, TX client is in need of a Sales Assistant for a contract opportunity.

Job Summary:
The Sales Assistant is responsible for the conversion of customer inquiries into appointments for the sales team (Sales Design Consultants). Also provides administrative and database support to the division. Position requires a high degree of phone usage (making inbound/outbound calls).

Essential Functions:
Sales Activities:
Make initial contact on all sales leads (received via phone, internet, referrals, etc.), goal to convert to first time appointments.
Respond to customer questions and promote / set up the appointment for the Sales Design Consultant.
Review / update all Design Consultants’ calendars and assign appropriate appointments with prospective customers.
Provide Sales Staff with necessary contact information for prospective customer
Follow up on all appointments and leads (typically phone calls that are reported to the Sales General Manager daily)
Review all current activity with management such as outstanding appointments and customer feedback and follow through with appropriate action.

Sales Administration / Support:
Maintain database integrity while entering all contact information into SalesLogix and reviewing SalesLogix lead database for duplication of leads.

Non-Essential Functions:
Coordinate special events such as Call-a-Ramas
Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience: Two to three years of related experience, customer service or telemarketing experience preferred
Specific Skills: Excellent customer service, communication and telephone skills, and a strong attention to detail, good organization skills..
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc: Sales experience and knowledge of selling and closing techniques, database / contact management proficiency.

Work Hours:
Work hours are 40 hours per week and may include overtime if needed. Normal work hours during the week (M-F) are 10:00 to 7:30. Candidates must also be available to work at least one weekend day (Sat or Sun) but if they could work both that would be even better. Normal weekend hours range from 10:00 to 4:00.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:
General office environment: mostly sitting at desk using a computer; occasional standing and walking; infrequent lifting of up to 10 lbs. no exposure to environmental conditions or driving required.

Internal: Sales Staff to schedule appointments and discuss sales opportunities; Management – updates on appointments scheduled and necessary reports.
External: Customers and potential Customers via phone, email, and in person to introduce the company and persuade to meet with a Design Consultant.

Success Factors:
Ability to multi-task and make quick decisions relative to interacting with customers and potential customers, setting appropriate appointments, etc. Telephone etiquette, articulate and professional demeanor is critical. Must be able to convert a difficult situation into a positive outcome. Assertive and patient.
