Our Houston, TX client, located in the Galleria area, is seeking a contract Senior Accountant.
Purpose of position:
This position is responsible for corporate accounting and internal reporting for Company and subsidiaries. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger, financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for A/R, A/P and general ledger.
Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
Asset and Inventory (fuels) processing and reporting.
Review bank statements.
Research and reconcile all discrepancies.
Following internal controls.
Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis.
Assist with financial and tax audits.
Assist with preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements
Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
College accounting degree and public accounting experience (CPA preferred).
4+ years of corporate accounting experience.
Strong organizational and management skills.
Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Intermediate to advanced applications software expertise (Excel and accounting software).
Experience in forecasting and budgeting.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player.
