Our Rosharon, TX client is in need of a Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity.
The Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer is responsible for installing, maintaining, documenting, and supporting server computing systems. This position works directly to the IT Manager. This is not a supervisory role, but will interact with employees at all levels.
Duties:
Research and recommend innovative automated approaches for system administration tasks
Troubleshoot and repair server hardware and software issues
Contribute to and maintain system standards
Manage and maintain LANDesk server environment
Configure/modify active directory and group policies
Configure/add new servers, services, or appliances as directed by management
Provide performance metric based reports to IT management
Implement preventative measures, maintain and monitor server security
Analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization
Train technical staff to follow proper operating procedures necessary to maintain the integrity of the systems.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the stability and integrity of in-house file, print email and web services
Maximize performance and availability of data for users
Provide end user training when required
Analyze and resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion
Install monitor, maintain, support, and optimize server hardware, software, and associated appliances
Plan, design, support and maintain computing systems across the global organization
Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent
MCSE certification is Required
5+ years relevant IT experience in a fast-paced IT environment
Sr. level support of Windows 2003, 2008, Exchange 2007 & 2010 including: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS and IIS
Powershell scripting
Microsoft Lync
Sharepoint
Blackberry Enterprise server
EMC Celerra SAN experience
VMware ESX and Vsphere administration experience
Symantec Archive and Anti-Virus
Must be available to participate in an on call rotating schedule for after-hours support and be available for occassional short term domestic and international travel to remote sites
LANDesk configuration & maintenance experienced required
HP Blade enclosures
Cisco switch configuration experience
Mitel VoIP phone system experience
