Our North Dallas, TX client is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer.  This client offers an excellent benefits package and a very generous PTO plan.

The Senior Instructional Designer (ID) is responsible for designing and developing e-learning experiences. This involves working with subject matter experts to identify what students need to learn, developing learning objectives and ensuring that the content (either original or adapted) supports those objectives. The Senior ID develops e-learning activities, games and assessments to support learning objectives and optimize user engagement. The Senior ID also uses best practices for verifying the efficacy of learning applications in a variety of contexts (including, but not limited to, browser, desktop, mobile, touch-screen, and tablets). 

Responsibilities:
Lead the requirements gathering, design planning and development of key projects as assigned.
Provide strategic thinking to come up with best solutions to a variety of e-learning projects.
Work with subject matter experts to identify what students need to learn and develop learning objectives accordingly (for stand-alone products or to accompany existing curricula)
Review existing curricula to identify learning objectives, and develop e-learning solutions to meet those objectives
Collaborate with editorial team to ensure that the appropriate content is developed to support learning objectives
Collaborate with editorial and engineering teams to ensure that the content can be managed in an efficient way throughout the product lifecycle
Develop e-learning activities, games and assessments to support learning objectives, optimize user engagement, and in some cases, maintain the instructional integrity, educational effectiveness and quality of the curriculum that the activity accompanies.
Develop e-learning activities for a variety of device contexts (including, but not limited to, laptop/desktop, mobile phones, and touch-screen tablets) as well as a variety of online social contexts (individual, peer-sharing, and community).
Create detailed user flows, storyboards, wireframes and other supporting instructional design documentation at each stage of the development.
Coordinate development efforts with various stakeholders, including but not limited to sales & marketing, design, media, and engineering, to ensure optimal development of an engaging e-learning experience.
Design and maintain assessments and measuring tools for e-learning experiences that support learning objectives, achievement tests, questionnaires, simulations scenarios, grading criteria and program outcomes.
Analyze organizational training needs and design learning products in multiple formats (e.g. instructor-led, self-study, web-based, pod-casts, and simulation) that support business goals and improve implementation of the products.
Validate, both before and after implementation, that the learning experience meets the learning objectives and recommend necessary iterative improvements.
Track and review usage analytics of e-learning applications. Use analytics to direct and develop product improvement and enhancement.
Support the implementation of our products by editing materials based on feedback, resolve conflicts in instructional strategy in the design and development of online curriculum.
Keep current on new developments in usability and user experience design, and their effectiveness with regard to various developmental ages.

Requirements:
5+ years of professional instructional design experience.
Solid understanding of education industry best practices.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills.
Experience in developing educational web sites, applications, and games or simulations, preferably for the K-12 marketplace.
Experience in developing online educational sites that integrate social media and collaboration tools to support learning objectives
Experience in developing mobile applications; knowledge of mobile app design principles.
