Our Houston, TX client, located in the Energy Corridor, is in need of a Senior Plant Accountant for a Direct Hire Opportunity.

Job Summary
The Senior Plant Accountant performs all analytical, accounting and reporting functions for one or more processing plants. 

Summary of Essential Job Functions
Verify flow, schematics, and monthly volumetric balancing for plants and gathering systems
Analyze monthly volumetric statements
Gather internal and external supporting documents for processing and analysis
Bill operational and reimbursable projects counterparties via accounts receivable module and supporting calculation spreadsheets and documents
Process and/or analyze accounts payable for vendors and producer settlements
Process monthly journal entries to record operational results including any accruals needed for unbooked amounts
Process any prior-period adjustments
Prepare reports detailing and summarizing gross margin results and analysis
Facilitate the process of timely cash receipts and disbursements including resolution of inquiries
Analyze trends and compare with budgets and review results with the field/supervisors/engineers
Compare forecasts to actual margins and analyze differences and provide feedback for updating forecast models
Assist with audit and special projects
Participate in system implementations and testing
Participate in joint venture billing and settlements
Communicate effectively with management and work closely with other departments
Recommend and drive continuous improvement through analysis and experience
Assist with ongoing development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures for all accounting related processes and the documentation of procedures and controls
Support compliance of all corporate policies and general procedures
Maintain controls and documentation evidencing performance of controls
Provide data support for commercial and operations needs

Minimum Requirements
Accounting or business degree preferred
Five years energy experience, gas plant and/or volume accounting experience a plus
Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills, organization, and documentation skills needed
Advanced Excel skills including query, pivot tables
Experience with report development, a plus
Solomon accounting software a plus
Experience with allocation systems – Waterfield, TIPS a plus

Abilities Required
Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
Ability to travel to the plant for 1-2 nights at a time.
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc
Could involve some lifting up to 20 pounds
Ability to sit for extended periods of time without much movement
Ability to work in time-sensitive environment with non-flexible deadlines
Overtime, as required
