Our San Antonio, TX client is seeking a Staff Accountant. Our client is seeking a full time finance or accountant type person to help them build a strong foundation for their financial future. This position is responsible for internal financial needs and providing solid financial insights and recommendations to ensure the profitability of goods and services in the future. This role will be the heartbeat of the organization and will help guide their success and ensure they are smart financially. You’ll need to patiently connect with each business area and have the necessary information, history and experience to dialog and help teammates find solutions, do their jobs better and be more profitable. You really need to be experienced and enjoy financial and cost accounting systems and processes to the point that you can evaluate and design current systems as necessary to provide applicable metrics and ensure business goals are being met. Oh, and enjoy cost accounting.
Responsibilities:
Tell them how much every single thing they do actually costs.
Grasp ideas, translate them to financial models and concepts, and come up with the financial requirements for implementation and the ultimate impact on profitability.
Make observations, draw conclusions and oversee solutions from planning to action to reality
Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Statements
Financial forecasting
Responsible for all transactions including, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable, Sales and Sales tax, reconciliations
Prepare and oversee budgets in coordination with each department
Assist Product and Inventory departments in product planning and inventory maintenance
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree Accounting, Finance or related field
3+ Years of Accounting or Finance Experience with a product company
Retail industry experience is a HUGE plus
Cost accounting experience (Job Costing, FIFO)
Knowledge of report building in Netsuite PLUS
