Our Dallas, TX client is seeking a tax professional with financial institution experience for a contract starting immediately.

Functional Assignment and Responsibilities Facilitate regulatory reporting required of the failed bank and receivership, gather appropriate tax records to include tax returns, tax files and work papers necessary to assume the compliance responsibilities of the failed institution. Reviews the tax status of federal and state filings, prepare returns, analyzes refund potential, files extensions, works with outside CPA firms, IRS, and failed bank tax staff to resolve open audits and pending issues, and reconcile and adjustments necessary to balance assigned settlement jackets. Tax Professional(s) should be experienced in the preparation of corporate and partnership Federal and State income and franchise tax returns. Experience is also required in the preparation of Federal and State payroll. Tax Professional(s) should be able to utilize an understanding of business information and financial reporting systems, accounting standards, and procedures. Individual should have a working knowledge of federal information return yearend reporting, primarily for Forms 1099INT, 1099R,1098, 1099A, 1099C, and 1099MISC.  Qualifications under RAC:

Minimum qualifications include:

Three (3) years corporate tax experience or a CPA.

Four-year  business,  accounting or equivalent degree from an   accredited   university,   which   includes or is supplemented  by  at  least  12  hours  in  accounting  or auditing.

A working knowledge of financial institution operations, procedures, record keeping and financial reports.

Ability to deal and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.

Ability to analyze corporate tax records.

Experience in the preparation of Federal and State tax reports and forms.

Knowledge of IRS collection, correspondence and return processing procedures.

Ability to coordinate various ongoing activities to ensure the timely filing of all tax reports.

Skill in the use of standard office equipment, i.e., copiers, faxes, typewriters and calculators.

Skill in the operation of a personal computer, including the use of Microsoft’s Office Suite Products and other database programs.
