Benefits Coordinator
Our client, located in West Houston, TX, is in need of a Benefits Coordinator for a contract to possible hire opportunity.
Company Profile:
Physical therapy office with locations across the United States
Your Role:
The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for the administration of benefits for 1200 employees, including Leave of Absences, FMLA, ADA, FSA, basic life, supplemental life, disability insurance programs, 401K, new employee enrollment, qualified life events, etc.
Process adds, drops and changes with enrollments and assist with claim issues.
Works with vendors and brokers to provide COBRA admin services
Assist with ACA administration, compliance and open enrollment
Subject matter expert for LOA/FMLA/Workers Comp and other federal and state regulations
Coordinates communications with payroll, employees, vendors and supervisors regarding benefit premium payments for employees on leave
Files claims with insurance providers
Counsel employees, management and supervisors regarding the law
Maintain a working knowledge of employee benefit regulations including ERISA, PPACA, HIPAA and COBRA
Audit and reconcile monthly benefit invoices from carriers, creates reports and assists in resolving problems and discrepancies
Prepare reports and provide data analytics for management
Assist the payroll team with troubleshooting benefit plans
LOA – will write letter and personally handle it, not contract it out
Background Profile:
Advanced Excel skills including vlookups, data manipulation, column insertion, concatenation, etc
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including ERISA, FLSA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, PPACA, and COBRA.
3+ years of experience in employee benefits
PHR would be ideal
Associates degree or higher would be ideal
Previous payroll experience would be helpful for this role as well
