Regulatory Compliance Specialist Role:
Assemble new hire compliance packets by gathering drug test results, requesting records, and sending out informational questionnaires in order to verify eligibility for employment
Process reasonable suspicion, cause, or post-accident collections by coordinating substance abuse evaluations, documenting case notes, removing from service, connecting to the appropriate treatment program, developing a testing schedule, and monitoring progress in order to aid employees needing assistance
Manage the Company Drug and Alcohol hotline by providing subject matter expertise, documenting claims, and offering guidance in order to provide 24/7 Drug and Alcohol support
Oversee the proper collection of specimens for both pre-employment and random testing by coordinating with vendors to schedule the appropriate test(s), pulling and documenting results, and coordinating follow-up testing, as outlined by individual treatment plans, in order to ensure compliance with the Company Drug and Alcohol regulations
Manage cases for employees requiring treatment plans by monitoring treatment plans, coordinating ongoing testing, offering additional resources and services, and maintaining accurate records with guidance
Serve as a liaison for supervisors, station, center and base Leaders, legal and company upper management in order to gather and communicate information, as permissible
Act as a resource for employees and leadership throughout the evaluation process, being available to review and interpret Federal Aviation Administration rules or company policy as appropriate, provide information regarding testing reports, and investigate treatment resources as requested, with guidance
Maintain up-to-date records for all cases, including test results, progress reports and accurate case notes in order to ensure compliance with the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration and company regulations
Assist with conducting both new hire and recurrent training for employees and supervisors including Drug and Alcohol tests conducted, health effects, rehabilitation resources, consequences for policy violations, and safety sensitive employees in order to ensure understanding of testing and resources at all levels
Regulatory Compliance Specialist Background Profile:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fields required
1- 2 years of experience in a Drug & Alcohol Program or equivalent preferred
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and time constraints
Ability to demonstrate empathy and high emotional intelligence in various situations dealing with both customers and fellow employees
Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines with a sense of urgency
Ability to stay organized and deliver high quality work, paying close attention to details
Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Ability to initiate tasks, perform duties, and respond to inquiries without direction or supervision
Must meet confidentiality expectations as to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other departments
Ability to articulate information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Ability to exercise good judgement and ethical standards in a variety of situations
