Our Southwest Houston, TX client is in need of an Accounting Manager on a Direct Hire basis. The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent leadership experience, ensures clear communication among their department, and can take hold of a busy department.  Additional skills that would be valuable are strong International experience, advanced Excel skills, and familiar with the mechanical services industry. An independent worker with experience in Cost Accounting, Fixed Assets, and Trend Analysis, while having an eye for process improvement would work well in this environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting Department located in Houston Texas with five (5) direct reports.
Carry out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Safeguards assets and assures accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed assets records, general and entity accounting and cost accounting.
Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for President/CEO and Director of Finance
Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing when necessary
Manage commercial banking relationships
Work closely in the development and economic evaluation of various fringe benefit programs for employees
Interface with casualty/liability insurance agents/brokers, credit card companies and collection agencies
Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of the Company
Abide by all of the Company safety policies and procedures
Oversight of the Company payroll activities and acts as the escalation point to resolve issues.  Continuously looks for improvements in operational processes and designs and implements those initiatives.
Other duties as necessary and/or assigned

Position Requirements:
Bachelor Degree (B.A.) from four-year university or college;
Master preferred
5+  years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CPA certification a plus
Familiar with Timberline accounting systems
Experience in budget development and management
Experienced in a shared service environment
Ability to effectively supervise team members and participate in inter-departmental team building exercises.
Proficient in MS Office Suites – Advanced Excel
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow through
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to prioritize, work well under deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities
Must have exceptional interpersonal skills.
