Our LaPorte, TX client is seeking an Application Engineering Specialist– Remanufactured Pump Packaging.  This person Works with Sales Representatives, Territory Managers, Distributors, Representatives and/or customer alliance management on major remanufactured pump packaging tenders.  Assists members of management with major project tender sign off, when required by Delegation of Authority, and support the market, product, and tender strategies.  Serves as liaison between operations and project management and other factories outside the PU NAM region and Sales, the customer, and other company disciplinary groups. 

Responsibilities:
Evaluates the customer pump application requirements (RFQ’s, drawings, and specifications as required ) to insure that the company can produce a pump package that will satisfy the customer’s needs for competitive price and delivery while providing an acceptable margin.
Compiles project proposals and costing estimates for pump packaging projects.
Sources and purchases used pumps from open market for inventory and project orders.
Supports sales representatives and attends customer face to face meetings.
Performs advance engineering and conceptual engineering to ensure feasibility of project.
Reviews customer RFQ’s, drawings, and specifications as required.
Assists sales representatives and customers in the selection of the proper pump hydraulic performance to satisfy the customer requirements.  Obtains assistance from H.Q. Engineering Hydraulics Group for pump hydraulic selection as needed.
Specifies and produces or obtains estimates for manufacturing, material, and engineering costs, as well as large auxiliary equipment items such as electric motors, engines, gears, lube systems and seal systems.
Coordinates large projects and provides technical application assistance
Evaluates quotes from suppliers as required.
Supports Sales Representative in completing and submitting Order Package including the OED to Project Management
When required, provides direction and training to other team members.
Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and EHS Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.  Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
Assists in high value service center repair project proposals (typically when engineering firms are involved).
Provides quotations and applications support for Company OHX overhung pump upgrade kits
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
5 years experience in design and application of rotating equipment or equivalent.
Proficient Math and computer skills and ability to operate office machinery.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
