Frontline Source Group  – temporary staffing and direct hire firm – is looking for an Assistant Controller for our NW Houston, TX client, located in Jersey Village, for a Direct Hire opportunity.

DUTIES:
OVERALL – Assisting the Controller in all phases of accounting, foremost of which is managing the day-to-day Accounting Department activities and responsibilities of the accounting staff, supervising payroll, A/R and A/P functions, with limited supervision and heavy decision-making.
MONTHLY CLOSE – Leading/managing/performing monthly close activities including all month end journal entries and monthly closing procedures.
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS – Reconciliation of monthly balance sheet accounts and review of monthly income statement accounts for reasonableness.
PROJECT ACCOUNTING – Reviewing projects for proper costing and revenue recognition.
FINANCIAL REPORTING (GAAP/IFRS) – Producing financial statements for Internal and Parent Company use.
FIXED ASSETS – Review & reconciliation of fixed assets and depreciation.
MANAGEMENT REPORTING – Preparing and distributing weekly and monthly management reports.
CASH FLOW – Preparing weekly/monthly cash flow projections.
TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING & REPORTING RESEARCH/APPLICATION – Prioritizing, researching & resolving all extraordinary accounting issues impacting the Company’s financial statements.
STATUTORY REPORTING/COMPLIANCE – Maintenance of State/Federal reporting, including multiple Secretary of State required filings.
INTERNATIONAL FILINGS – Responsible for international filings as required.
PROCESS IMPROVEMENT – Initiate and implement process improvements, for the Accounting Department and the Company. Observe and follow all Company safety rules and procedures.  Support and encourage continuous improvement of the Company’s processes, including safety program and quality management system.
INTERNAL LIAISON – Assist other departments/managers with accounting related issues.
AUDIT LIAISON – Responding to all audits.
SPECIAL PROJECTS – As directed by Controller.
MANAGERIAL & SUPERVISORY – Hire, train and supervise accounting staff to ensure quality of work.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degreed – In Accounting with Project Accounting & Supervisory Experience, 4 to 7 years (will consider direct from public, but public/private mix is preferred)
IFRS Experience, and Advanced Excel Skills; Strong Database Skills a plus
Ability To Travel 5-10%

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
BASE SALARY, commensurate with Qualifications below
